These
two love birds got hitched a month before this photo session. They
returned from their honeymoon relaxed and free of all the wedding stress
and wanted to have a photo session that showed more of their fun
personalities. And that's just what we did! We walked around the park
being silly, being sweet and just being in love. I had so much fun
photographing these sillies and look forward to seeing them next year in
LA! Xoxo

These
are my favorite photographs of my mom and her siblings, taken in LA
this spring. We were missing one of my uncles (he lives outside the
country) but it was so fun photographing such a loving family. My mom
(on the right) doesn't get to see her brothers and sisters often unless
there's a family event that summons us all to one place, so I wanted to
give her something memorable. I think the mission was a success! They
had so much fun-- being together was probably more than enough to bring
the happiest of smiles to their faces-- and they did a great job
following my silly directions. ;) More photos to come with the rest of
the family members. Happy Friday Everyone! Xoxo

Allison & Zack

A
few months ago I was in LA for a workshop and this cute couple showed
up to be our models for the day. They were Allison, an adorable blogger
of Hello Lately,
and Zack, a graphic designer. Despite the 20 or so eager
photographers swarming around them like bees around sweet flowers, they
were so in love that they were able to escape into their own world, away
from the cacophony of clicking shutters. Thanks for letting us
"attack" you with our cameras and capture some wonderful moments. Xoxo

Here is a little story of how I met this family:
When
I was in LA last month for a workshop I stayed in a hostel in Little
Tokyo to make my morning commute easier. (I heard horrible stories
about LA traffic) Then I met Alex, the on-site hostel manager, and his
almost 1 year old daughter Hanna. I could not get over how cute this
baby was!! I went to my first day of the workshop, got super inspired,
and did something completely out of the ordinary for me. I called Alex
and asked if I could photograph his family. They said no due to baby's
schedule, and it was dinner time, and I only had 30 min window before
the sunset, etc etc… I was kind of bummed that I couldn't photograph
them but I expected a no so I moved on and got ready to go out for
dinner. Then the phone rang again! (Ah… I did have a weird feeling he
might call back) When Alex told Haruka about my phone call she replied
"You said no to baby photos? Call her back!" Thank god for Mothers! (ハるか!ありがとうございます)
Haha! So here we are with these photos of this gorgeous family. I'm
really glad I got my courage up and asked! I think I will definitely
visit them again when I'm in town next. Thanks guys for making what
could've been really awkward into something so memorable!
