St. Lucia

We took a family vacation to St. Lucia last week.  Despite the blazing sun ray beaming down on us (and eventually cooked us like lobsters) the island was gorgeous.  Piton, the most notable landmark in the island is an UNESCO World Heritage site and there lays the world's only drive-in dormant volcano crater.  We hit the best bakery on the island, where there was a sign saying "We have rabbits on sale- whether you want the meat or a pet" to the biggest banana plantation with acres of yummy ripped bananas.  The creole food was good and people were genuine and sweet.  Ahh good times- expect my burnt body!

Andy & Jeanne

July 31st marked their 9th year anniversary.  Also it was the night Andy proposed to Jeanne on the very spot where they had their first date.  It was quite a bit of a mission for approximately 30 people to be hiding in the shadow pretending to be tourists, couples and a frequent park walkers as Andy took Jeanne to the end of the park where he was planning to "pop the question".  Once we got the cue, we quietly walked over and surrounded them (as Jeanne's back is turn to us) and surprised her.  Then rest was history.  He went down on his knees, she started crying (still stunned.. wondering why were all there) and everyone celebrated with a glass of sparkling cider.  Which is what they had on their first date, 9 years back.  Planning to get married next year same day, they have lots of stuff to do now.  Very clever of Andy to do everything on July 31st. Only 1 date to remember ;)

Kate & Wayne's Engagement BBQ

Over the weekend Kate and Wayne had their intimate but super relaxed engagement bbq hosted by Kate's parents at their beautiful house on the lake.  We ate and ate and ate delicious food and played darts and later jumped in the lake to cool down from the hot weather.  Despite the humidity in the air everyone enjoyed the company of others and are really excited for their wedding next summer.

Portland, Maine

Portland was a very interesting town.  I do have to say there's lobster everywhere!! (90% of America's Lobster comes from here!)  Even Ice Cream shops sell lobster rolls, all claiming they are the best in town.  Also lots of organic green produce.  The farmers' market had the freshest produce I've ever seen.  I never knew carrots and beats grow in different colors, is that normal?  I will definitely swing by again maybe in the winter time? I heard they make aluminum houses on lakes and fish!! And the Acadia National Park that I couldn't visit this time and see some moose!

Meet Jillian Yi-Jun Tsai! Isn't she precious? When I first met her she was 7 days old and yesterday she turned 28 days old.  She was tiny but did grow quite a bit since I've seen her last hence, she just made it into her outfit for the shoot.  So mommy and daddy decided that's what she will wear until they can't close the snap buttons.  Although she cried throughout the shoot we had fun eating, taking bath, hanging out with wonderful grandparents on the patio and managed to get some adorable pictures.  Crying babies are still cute ;)
